Thank you both so very much for making our vow renewal celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary a wonderful day to remember. Neither of us knew what to expect and were we surprised! Everything was beautiful, the location – “Secret Beach”, the ceremony and the pictures. Everyone we have shown the slide show and pictures to were amazed to learned that all we did was make a phone call and you guys did the rest and in such a short period of time. All we had to do was show up for the ceremony.

I am usually the one to set things up but Bernie told me that he was going to handle everything this time. I was a little skeptical at first but after talking with Danny, any doubt that I may have had immediately went away. It is so refreshing to see that there are still people in this world that take pride in the products and services they offer. You guys didn’t skip a beat… you were very professional and yet you made us feel like family. We have suggested to the people at HGVC that they recommend Kona Weddings to their guests in the future. I wanted you to know how much we appreciated your flexibility with our wedding date issue. We were trying to juggle flying in from the mainland, settling on our newly purchased home on the Big Island (with no firm settlement date) and plans to get married too! Kona Weddings was the only venue who was willing to work with us without a firm wedding date. All the other wedding venues, including our hotel, required a “confirmed” date of no less than two weeks out; which we could not provide.

First of all, we want to thank you for the incredible vow renewal experience! From our first email contact to the photo selection, you made everything so easy and unstressful. Our wedding 25 years ago was great, but our vow renewal was so much more intimate and personal, not to mention ALL ABOUT US! It was THE most romantic day of our relationship of nearly 30 years. My cheeks ached from all the smiling. Danny, you made the ceremony so special--you are a wonderful minister and a compassionate, gentle soul. Helen, I only spent a few hours with you, but I think we could have been sisters! Both of you are so easy to be around--personable and professional.

Please let Dan know how pleased we were with our photos. During the ceremony, he was so discreet we didn't even notice he was shooting. After the ceremony, he made sure we got great sunset shots. What an amazing evening--Danny, thanks for the Pahuia recommendation, as well as Adventurous Tours(?) limo service with Tim. He was lots of fun. The meal and the car service were first class.

We went back to Kikaua Beach Park before heading to the airport. That place will always have a special place in our hearts since that is where we recommitted ourselves to each other. It is such a peaceful, "secret" place that I think we will go there every time we visit the big island! (I can't wait to come back-- we'll let you know when the time comes!)

As with most couples, we wanted our dream wedding to become a reality. For us, this meant an intimate occasion under a beautiful sunset, on a tranquil beach in Hawaii . We were very close to dismissing our dream wedding in the initial stages due to the lack of support and information that was available in the UK , even the travel agents choices were very limited and restricted. Through searching online, we came across Kona weddings and immediately the website was inviting, professional and gave us all of the information and reassurance that we had been unable to find elsewhere. In addition to this, it was vibrant and offered choice but most importantly personal contact and invited us to add those special touches that would make our wedding unique.

From the very first moment we contacted Kona weddings through to the day we waved them goodbye in Hawaii , our expectations had far been exceeded. In the pre booking stages of our wedding we contacted Danny and Helen via email and our trust was gained immediately through their quick and pertinent responses. They provided us with all of the information we needed and addressed the questions we had about getting married abroad and the legality of this in the UK . Although they were thousands of miles a way, their efficient, friendly and personal responses made us feel that they were close.

One of the notions we had which meant a lot to us, was to sail off into the sunset after we had made our vows to each other. Danny and Helen at Kona weddings took this idea and made it a reality and integrated this into our day seamlessly. In addition to this we had a string trio which played the songs that we had requested and a delicious tasting cake that had been specially created for us.

The ceremony contained elements that were authentic to the State of Hawaii including a ring of flowers which we stood in, leis and a conch that was blown to start the service. The beach location also had a fascinating history to it.

The photographs we have from the day have captured every moment and every detail, from the laughter to the tears and from the beginning until the end. They also show a sunset that is too beautiful for words that we have never seen or likely to see anywhere else in the world.

If it had not been for Danny and Helen, our perfect dream day would never have come alive as they made it a day that we will remember and cherish for the rest of our lives together.

Dear Helen and Danny,

Last year on July 4th you helped my husband Larry and I renew our wedding vows for our 20th anniversary. Having had a large wedding the first time, we wanted a do-over of sorts. Weddings have a tendency to take on a life of their own and the true meaning of the ceremony gets lost in all of the planning and worrying. We wanted a day for us...about us. You delivered!

This year, less than a month before our 21st anniversary, Larry got very ill. He had a subdural hematoma, which is bleeding between the skull and the brain. It occurs through hit (or bump in Larry's case) to the head. Fortunately it was caught in time and emergency brain surgery saved his life and he is well on his way to a full recovery.

The reason I am telling you about this is that I want you to know just how special you are and how grateful I am that we found you. Anyone can put a wedding together, but you allowed us to focus on the important things...our love and commitment to each other, our spiritual connection to each other and to the to the beautiful and magical surroundings that you helped us choose. You not only allow for it, you encourage it.

Larry is most amazed by the incredible sunset that evening and how you were able to capture not only the moments, but the spirit of the day. In fact, I took his favorite picture from that day and placed next to him in his hospital bed. I figured we needed all the help we could get.

You never know when someone you love will be taken from you or when you will be given a second chance. Each day should be treated with respect and never assume that there will always be a tomorrow. Your efforts gave me great comfort at a very scare time and I just want to thank you for all that you did for us.

Dear Helen and Danny.

For anyone who has ever been married, that day is undoubtedly one of, if not the most important day of their life. Most couples spend anywhere from weeks to months to plan that day and go over every detail again and again to make sure their wedding day turns out perfect. If only everyone knew all that was needed was a few minutes on the phone with you, the secret would be out!

I honestly don’t know what we would have changed if we could go back and do it all again. Everything went perfectly smooth from the time you picked us up from the Pride of Aloha until the time you delivered our package before we departed back to the ship to finish our cruise. Paradise Cove was absolutely gorgeous with its combination of deep blue water, beautiful trees and sandy beach. All the flowers from the Bridal Orchid Lei to the Groom Maile Lei to the bridal bouquet and ring of flowers were so exquisite. The playing of the harp and the conch helped to make the atmosphere complete. The wedding vows that Danny spoke were very deep and heart felt and had such magnificent meaning.

The photographs are absolutely the best photos I have even seen. The color and clarity are so amazing, everyone we have showed them to has commented on how remarkable they look. I honestly could not find one photograph of the wedding that was not one I would be proud to show to anyone. The biggest surprise came while watching the slideshow that you produced of the wedding. I have not ever seen anything like it and neither has anyone else we have shown. It has brought tears to the eyes of most who have watched it, including us. We continue to watch it over and over again.

Most people can only dream of having the perfect wedding, we feel very fortunate to have had our dream become a reality. Anyone who is thinking about getting married on the Big Island owe it to themselves to allow Kona Weddings the opportunity to make their wedding day perfect. We thank you both so much from the bottom of our hearts for providing us with that perfect time. Thank you so much for our sunset wedding at Green Turtle Beach in Kona. Nan and I will never forget that day. The white sand beach, the palm trees, the rolling tide, the rocky tidal basin, the peaceful ocean, the blue sky, the wispy clouds, the fading sunlight . . . all contributed to make the perfect sanctuary for our wedding. And the two turtles in attendance as witnesses was a perfect extra touch!
